The finalists, chosen by a panel of esteemed judges from the woodworking industry, ultimately have their work displayed at the biennial AWFS®Fair in Las Vegas, NV, where the People’s Choice, Best of Show, and other top prizes for a wide range of categories – including tables, chairs, case goods and more—are awarded.
With more than 100 projects featured, the Fresh Wood Design Book is a compilation of the innovative and stunning work on display at the Fresh Wood finals from 2017 to 2021. Professionally photographed and accompanied by insightful first-person commentary regarding the design and construction process, each piece is sure to inspire fellow students and woodworkers while enlightening educators and industry professionals. More than a collection of finished work, the Fresh Wood Design Book is a glimpse into the promising and creative future of the woodworking industry.

Founded in 1911, the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Sup- pliers® (AWFS®) is the largest trade association in United States and represents the broad array of manufacturers and distributors that sup- ply the home and commercial furnishings industry. Since its inception, AWFS® has donated millions of dollars toward educational programs with the primary goals of ensuring the current workforce has access to knowledge regarding the latest tools, technologies, and policies and to equip the next generation with a full understanding of the wood- working industry.
